Legendary gothic rock band The Cure has officially announced their much-anticipated 2025 world tour, set to kick off on June 16 in Dublin, Ireland. This tour marks the band’s first major global trek since their critically acclaimed Shows of a Lost World Tour in 2023. Frontman Robert Smith confirmed the news in a statement, promising a mix of deep cuts, fan favorites, and surprises along the way.
Fans of The Cure have been eagerly awaiting another tour since their last run, which saw the band deliver epic three-hour sets filled with both classic hits and new material. Smith, known for his cryptic but heartfelt announcements, shared his excitement:
“We’ve spent the past year working on new music, revisiting old songs, and planning something very special for 2025. This tour will be a journey through the past and the future—expect the unexpected.”
The tour, dubbed Dreaming in Darkness 2025, will span more than 40 dates across Europe, North America, South America, Australia, and Asia, concluding in Tokyo on December 12.
While the exact setlist remains a mystery, sources close to the band suggest that The Cure will be debuting songs from their long-rumored follow-up to Songs of a Lost World. Smith has hinted that unreleased tracks might finally see the light of day. Longtime fans can also expect timeless hits like Just Like Heaven, Lovesong, A Forest, and Boys Don’t Cry to make their way into the set.
In addition to new songs, Smith teased that the band would revisit material they haven’t performed in decades, adding an extra layer of excitement for die-hard followers.
The tour will launch at Dublin’s 3Arena on June 16 before heading to major cities like London, Paris, Berlin, New York, Los Angeles, São Paulo, and Sydney. Tickets are set to go on sale February 20, with presale options available for fan club members.
