The Florida Gators are entering the 2025 college football season with a renewed sense of hope. After beginning 2024 with a disappointing 4-5 record, they turned things around by winning their last four games. Now in Billy Napier’s fourth year as head coach, there’s a growing confidence around the program. Sophomore quarterback DJ Lagway, a former five-star recruit, is back to lead the offense. Florida will face the same SEC teams as last year, but the venues are reversed for home and away games. Here’s Florida’s 2025 schedule:
-
8/30: vs. Long Island University
-
9/6: vs. South Florida
-
9/13: at LSU
-
9/20: at Miami
-

In a recent interview on Wingin’ It with Wingo, hosted by former Gator linebacker Derek Wingo, Napier was asked which 2025 matchup he’s most anticipating. Rather than pinpoint a single game, Napier said he’s motivated by the chance to redeem past performances.
“You’re trying to get me in trouble,” Napier joked. “We’ve got a great opportunity this season. There are games where I felt we didn’t play to our potential. As a competitor, those are the ones you want another shot at. And I think we’ll get that chance this year.”
During the 2024 season, Florida suffered several tough losses, including a 41-17 defeat to Miami, a 33-20 loss to Texas A&M, and a 49-17 blowout by Texas—games likely on Napier’s mind when discussing redemption.
