Steffi Graf Launches $5 Million Free Medical Outreach, July 1–11, 2025 — Over 500 to Receive Vital Services Including Surgeries, Screenings, and Medications
Legendary tennis champion and humanitarian Steffi Graf has announced a major philanthropic initiative to bring free medical care to underprivileged communities. With a personal contribution of $5 million, Graf is funding a large-scale medical outreach campaign from July 1 to July 11, 2025, aimed at delivering essential healthcare services to those who need it most.
The outreach, organized by the Steffi Graf Foundation, is expected to directly impact over 500 individuals, offering services such as life-saving surgeries, general health screenings, pediatric and maternal care, dental care, mental health support, and access to essential medications. The initiative is inclusive and international in spirit, with support from both American and German medical professionals, reflecting Graf’s deep ties to both countries.
“For me, this is about dignity, compassion, and access,” Graf said during the announcement. “Healthcare should never be a luxury. This initiative is my way of giving back and standing beside those whose health needs have gone unmet for far too long.”
The program will be executed in collaboration with a network of local clinics, hospitals, and NGOs. A multidisciplinary team of over 200 volunteers, including doctors, nurses, therapists, and pharmacists from both the U.S. and Germany, will be mobilized to deliver care. Medical teams will operate through mobile clinics and temporary health camps, reaching patients in urban centers and underserved rural areas alike.
Services provided will include but are not limited to:
Surgical procedures for treatable conditions
Screenings for diabetes, hypertension, cancers, and other chronic illnesses
Maternal and pediatric care, including immunizations
Dental treatments
Free medications and follow-up referrals
Mental health evaluations and counseling sessions
In addition to direct patient care, the outreach will offer community health education workshops, where attendees can learn about hygiene, nutrition, chronic illness management, and mental wellness. Graf’s team emphasizes sustainability and plans to leave behind equipment and resources to support long-term care in the participating communities.
Registration for the outreach begins June 1, 2025, and will be open to all in need, with priority given to children, elderly citizens, and those with chronic or life-threatening conditions. Applicants can register via the foundation’s website, www.graffoundation.de, or in person at local partner clinics.
“This campaign isn’t just about treating illnesses—it’s about restoring hope,” said Dr. Katharina Vogel, a lead physician in the initiative. “Many of the patients we expect to see have been living with pain, fear, or uncertainty about their health. This effort, powered by Steffi’s vision and generosity, offers them a path forward.”
Graf, known globally for her historic tennis career and 22 Grand Slam titles, has long used her platform to advocate for children’s rights, education, and public health. Her foundation, launched in the 1990s, has previously supported various health and education initiatives, but this outreach marks its most ambitious medical program to date.
The campaign has drawn praise from both the American and German governments, with officials calling it a “model of global solidarity and compassion.”
